MME BRIGITTE VINTAGE. Why the 50’s are not off

mme_brigittevintageI’ve discovered the unique specialised shop dedicated to the vintage of the 50’s in Italy: Madame Brigitte Vintage.
Newly opened (a month ago), it’s run by two creative self-made women, who share the passion for vintage clothes, acessories, and furniture. They already own a collection of more than a thousand objects, absolutely in the London vintage style.  I had the chance to interview one of the owners for you, Filomena Russo.
F.M. How has the whole concept of your vintage shop come to Life?
F.R. Well you know, I’ve always been a creative person though I’m currently working as HR Manager. Music, Books, Vintage have always been great passions of mine.
So I started wandering why not open a vintage shop with a dear friend who share my passion. We realised there isn’t any specialised vintage shop of the 50’s in Italy.
We made our mind up pretty quickly and here we are, bringing the London Style in Limidi di Soliera (close to Modena, Reggio Emilia).
F.M. How did you choose the name of the shop? It sounds french!
F.R. Yes it’s french! It came out in a serendipity way. I was still trying to find a name for the shop while I was having a break week-end at a spa in VenetoSuddendly a therapist came out to call for a client saying ” Madame Brigitte?”. An old but very elegant parisian lady stood up and I knew I had found the perfect name for our Vintage shop.

F.M. It seems it’s already popular despite the crisis and the past earthquake. What’s your goal?
F.R. Bringing back to life vintage objects from the 50’s and the 60’s but also the 30’s and the 40’s, being always original.
F.M. What’s your dream for the future?
F.R. Growing professionally in the field in Italy, and get more and more important partnership opportunities in the vintage field in the UK.

About Odile Milton

I travel through words whenever possible. Odile Milton is my signature on the web as I wanted an alter ego to indicate only my writings and works, not my personal life. Odile like the dancer in black swan, and Milton from the novel An old-fashioned girl. View all posts by Odile Milton
