Carla Fracci. An evening of Dance Memories

carla.fracciCulture represents the Beauty of every civilisation. The Italians seem to forget it when it comes to institutions, but everytime a great Etoile shows up, as Carla Fracci did yesterday evening in Carpi, Italy, a standing ovation is the must.

On beautiful classic music notes, the former great dancer appeared at the elegant Castle of Carpi with her husband, meeting the people who love her. All willing to be enchanted by her classical performances (on screen), commented at her presence and that of her husband and manager, Beppe Menegatti (theatre director).

Unforgettable Giselle, Juliet or Cinderella, remembering Rudolf Nureyev, claiming the desperate situation of the Ballet in Italy, outlining the gestures of a long time ago, she was simply the living image of Grace to all of us. She was warmly acclaimed when stating that Carpi’s Theatre needs soon to be reconstructed (after the earthquake of 2011), and offering to organize for free a massive Gala at the new future opening.

Her husband was simply funny evoking their glorious adventures over theatres in the past, giving details about other Italian great masters such as Franco Zeffirelli or Luchino Visconti, for whom he worked.

It was a show longing for teh restoration of Italian culture, full of Hope.

A lovely way to celebrate once again the incredible life of a real Icon. At the end of the evening, three young dancers girls offered three white roses to Carla. Her smile recalled the importance of teaching to new generations the value of sacrifice, beauty, and culture.

About Odile Milton

I travel through words whenever possible. Odile Milton is my signature on the web as I wanted an alter ego to indicate only my writings and works, not my personal life. Odile like the dancer in black swan, and Milton from the novel An old-fashioned girl. View all posts by Odile Milton
