Tips to stay creative

spring.springThey say “Stay hungry. Stay Foolish“to be creative. I’ve come across this list of tips by Steampunks, and I decided to share it with all of you, adding in parentheses my personal experiences about it. Enjoy it!

 

 

 

1.MAKE LISTS (of everything that my be useful)

 
2. CARRY A NOTEBOOK EVERYWHERE ( handwriting is still so fascinating!)

 
3. TRY FREE WRITING (it’s like a meditation to me)

 
4. GET AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER (I write use it only 20 min in the morning, and I feel it should be always like this. Live your life!)

 
5. BE OTHERWORDLY (absolutely)

 
6. QUIT BEATING YOURSELF UP (it’s useless)

 
7. TAKE BREAKS (it will help you find your own rithym)

 
8. SING IN THE SHOWER (and you will feel happy!)

 
9. DRINK TEA/COFFEE (I prefer tea)

 
10. KNOW YOUR ROOTS (you’ll need them when you get lost)

 
11.LISTEN TO NEW MUSIC (without soundtracks life wouldn’t be that touching)

 
12. BE OPEN (and you’ll have the World for you)

 
13. SURROUND YOURSELF WITH CREATIVE PEOPLE (they will improve your days and yourself)

 
14. GET FEEDBACK (we all need to confront)

 
15. COLLABORATE (that’s how you get skilled)

 
16. DON’T GIVE UP (even when everything seems just no good)

 
17. PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE (everyday)

 
18. ALLOW YOURSELF TO MAKE MISTAKES (would you know yourself without any mistake?)

 
19. GO SOMEWHERE NEW (whenever you can or read a good travel book)

 
20.WATCH FOREIGN FILMS (foreign languages open new Worlds to us)

 
21. COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS (you’ll heal)

 
22 GET LOTS OF REST (you’ll work better)

 
23 TAKE RISKS (though you don’t know what’s out there, is the only way of not regretting it)

 
24. BREAK THE RULES (that’ll be the beauty in your work)

 
25. DO MORE OF WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY (at least once a day small pleasant things make me extremely happy)

 
26.DON’T FORCE IT (never. Trust your instinct)

 
27. READ A PAGE OF THE DICTIONARY (even if you’re a translator and it may sound boring)

 
28. CREATE A FRAMEWORK (to imagine your future)

 
29. STOP TRYING TO BE SOMEONE’S ELSE PERFECT (start being yourself)

 
30. GOT AN INDEA? WRITE IT DOWN (or you’ll forget it)

 
31. CLEAN YOUR WORKSPACE (and your ideas will clear up)

 
32. HAVE FUN (why doing it otherwise?)

 
33. FINISH SOMETHING (to start something new and better)
